Liaise with client (petrol station management) to ensure:
- Hazardous zones are identified
- All service station pumps and equipment are shut down and locked so they cannot be restarted.
- All storages of LPG, fuel and associated gauges and pipe-work are barricaded and protected from damage
- Site induction is provided (location of clean-up/toileting facilities, no go zones, smoking or mobile phone use areas and nature of flammable hazards No ignition sources or work producing ignition sources to be undertaken within 3m of flammable storages (liquids or gas)
- Equipment for monitoring flammable vapour in work area available.
Ensure no work is conducted in Zone 1 (highly flammable hazardous areas) with plant or equipment that is not rated for an explosive atmosphere. Check all equipment for required markings as per AS 2380.4.
