The Air Conditioner Installation Safe Work Method
Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 6 page procedure outlining the steps
for the safe installation of air conditioner units.
This SWMS covers risks associated with the general
installation of air conditioning systems. Ensure the manufacturer’s
installation manual/guide is available for specific information on all
installation works.
The Air Conditioner Installation procedure is ready to
use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN,
and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to
the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated
as part of your overall OHS System.
The Air Conditioner Installation procedure can be used as
part of your OHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
Installation Refrigerant Gases:
- Ensure restrained adequately on transport vehicle.
- Avoid storing inside cabin of vehicles
- Keep minimum quantities
- Ensure Material Safety Data Sheet available (within 5
year issue date)
- Inspect cylinders regularly to ensure no damage or
leaks
- Ensure adequate ventilation
