Rigging Safety Notes
Requirements:
Certification is required for all rigging work. The Basic Rigging Certificate encompasses the requirements for the Dogging Certificate..
Before Lifting:
- Inspect harness for damage
- Inspect and insure correct operation of inertia reel.
- Check that the anchor point or static line are correctly located and have not been damaged.
- Ensure that the harness is correctly fitted, adjusted and connected to anchor point or static line.
Rigging With Chains
Check for damage such as:
- Stretching or bending of links
- Small dents on the surface of links
- Wear on parts of the links that seat each other
- Deformation
- Rust, nicks or gouges, pitting or corrosion and
- Links that are locked or without free movement.
